Who can drive my car?The policyholder and any driver named on the Certificate of Insurance provided that such person holds a licence to drive the vehicle or having held a licence is not disqualified from holding or obtaining a licence (subject to the terms and conditions of the policy).
What is a no claims discount?A No Claims Discount is a discount applied to your premium in recognition of the number of years claims free driving as a policyholder.
What is an introductory no claims discount?An Introductory No Claims Discount is a discount applied to your premium in recognition of the number of years of consecutive claims free driving as a named driver on another persons policy.
What is a protected no claims bonus?If you protect your No Claims Discount you may incur one claim in any one period of insurance without affecting your No Claims Discount.
What is policy excess?Is the amount of the claim you must pay. We pay the balance.
Where Will My Policy Allow Me to Drive?You are covered when you drive in Ireland or the U.K. You can drive in all Western European and most Eastern European countries, as your policy will provide the minimum cover required in the country you are visiting. A foreign court may however, award damages greater than the minimum cover. Therefore, we recommend that you extend your full policy cover to include the countries you are visiting. You will need to contact us before your journey so that cover is extended. Please contact us if you need any details or are not sure about anything.
What Must I Do If The Facts On The Proposal Form Change?You must tell us straight away if something happens that may affect your insurance cover, for example:
Who Can Drive My Car?Normally, only people named on your certificate can drive your car. However, there are forms of open driving which will allow people to drive your car without being named on your certificate. If you are in any doubt check your certificate or contact us. |
